Level343's insight:

Link Building: Much like my tattoo, a link is fairly permanent.  In some cases, you will get a responsive website owner that will remove or change a link for you when you request it.  But often, getting links removed is a painful and often unsuccessful process.  So think twice about what you are doing when you set up links.

Content Marketing 101: A Huge Collection of Tips and Tricks, Plus 34 Must-Read Blogs to Follow | Content Strategy |Brand Development |Organic SEO | Scoop.it
Content marketing is a topic we’re quite eager to learn about here on the Buffer blog, and it seems to be one our community is excited about as well.
We invited the team at Atomic Reach to share their insight in our weekly Twitter chat.
Level343's insight:

What is “content marketing” at its very core?

From Atomic Reach:

At its core, content marketing is the exchange of useful content to an audience in return for their attention.

That content can take on many forms from blogs, white papers, podcasts, things like this Twitter chat and much more.

The goal of a brand is to attract an audience interested in their content and ultimately their product or service.

4 Ways to Make Your Website a Lean, Mean Conversion Machine | Content Strategy |Brand Development |Organic SEO | Scoop.it

Want more conversions? Here are four ways to design efficient webpages that will support the decision-making process of the brain and help your visitors convert.

Level343's insight:
3. Define Your Cultural Tribe

Humans are deeply tribal.

Our behaviors are heavily influenced by our tribal identities – the different tribes we belong to out of chance (e.g., nationality) or preference (e.g., being a sci-fi aficionado). We crave social acceptance and seek approval from others, especially those in our tribe. Hence, if you want your pages to be more persuasive, you need to know not only who your target audience is but also what “tribes” they align themselves with.

Well said!!!What Content Marketing is Not!

It is not a platform to pitch to customers about “your products and services”.  We don’t want to be self-proclaiming, or self absorbed about our own products and how well we do things. That isn’t the point here. There is still entirely too much of this today in content marketing and I see it all too often in when auditing clients who already have some sort of content marketing in place.

Your end goal should be to “educate your readers about your industry”, to provide value and trust, to help them make smarter buying decisions by being more intelligent about what they are looking for

What Can an SEO Audit Do For My Website?

The beautiful and frustrating thing about doing business on the web is that the environment is always changing. Global search results are an amazing tool to expand business, but if you’re committing egregious sins against Google’s idea of SEO Best Practices you’ll never rank. Level343's insight:

Stay ahead of The Curve

Search engines are constantly updating their algorithms to stay competitive and in order to give their users more refined results. That means that every client with an SEO strategy must adapt to how major search engines change their algorithms. Companies engaging globally cannot take their SEO marketing strategies for granted in this very cutthroat marketing sector.

If a business thinks they can have one consultation with an SEO marketing business and be done with it, they’re sadly mistaken. It’s important to find an SEO company that offers a step-by-step roadmap with consultants and strategists who will work directly with you for your long-term goals. Executing an appropriate SEO campaign for your marketing needs is paramount if you’re going to stay on top of the SERP’s.

The problem with content is that it’s best graded by those who consume it, but Google and other search engines are the ones who are going to determine your page rank. That makes it a tricky dance, to be sure. These days, PR and SEO are blending their skillsets and working collectively together on joint tasks. One such task which is shared by both departments includes content management, and especially, content calendars. Content calendars, previously, would solely be utilized by public relations experts for scheduling and creating topics for stories. SEO professionals, now are integrating content calendars in their strategies for content marketing.
