Maker's Mark's Plain Dumb Move Proved To Be Pure Marketing Genius

Maker's Mark's Plain Dumb Move Proved To Be Pure Marketing Genius | Content Marketing | Scoop.it
In some ways Maker’s learned what many companies have to grapple with today: they really don’t own their brands anymore, the customer does. They just rent them.
Sam Ginsberg's insight:

I have to believe that the marketers behind Makers Mark knew excactly what they where doing. People at first called this a dumb move, while I am sitting on the couch thinking that either it will work, and they'll increase market share, or MM will get more publicity than they could ever purchase FOR FREE; just to simply revert back and make everyone happy once again. They came out on top regardless, now MM is the brand who "cares" about their customers, so much that they changed their entire recipe back almost immidiately. Its almost as if they planned it this way...

Use Content Strategy to Break Into a New Market

Use Content Strategy to Break Into a New Market | Content Marketing | Scoop.it

Go back to content marketing basics to cross new frontiers
SUMMARY: A content marketing strategy could be good for breaking into a new market, provided it's based on solid ideas about the target audience, Ardath Albee writes. First consider a range of questions such as what the buyer would gain by switching to your brand. Then match the value to the new market, determining which of the personalities in your company will best match the buyer persona you perceive. "Take what you think is your most compelling positioning or core message and rewrite it for a 6 year old based on what you learned," Albee writes.

Phone bloks ~The Best Vidoé~

How To Create An Iphone Or Ipad Apps And Games Succeed In App Store! http://bit.ly/1a1xxxF PHONEBLOKS.COM IS CURRENTLY OFFLINE!! PLEASE VISIT http://bit.ly/1...

Sam Ginsberg's insight:

Revolutionary design or cool science project?

If this catches on it could in theory run the most popular OS (Android). This open software is a big advantage for startups like Phone Bloks. Whether this actually makes it to launch or not time will tell. Either way it addresses a modern day dilemma.

Imagine a sort of e-trade commerce of Blok parts sending them back and forth between consumers. Ordering new parts when they are released, re-selling the older Bloks to other Phone Blok owners. Much easier than attempting to sell an old phone. Modern day cell phones are so differentiated that they are almost all designed for a small segment of the consumer population. However everyone needs components.

Something to follow and think about.
