The following infographic from Uberflip gives a concise view of what the trends will be like in content marketing in 2014.

2013 has experienced a lot of innovative changes as far as marketing is concerned. There were a whole lot of new tools and conventions to deal with. But in all of these content marketing stood out! Today, content marketing is not just a buzz word but something that every business now takes as a MUST.

For example, in a recent survey conducted by MarketingProfs and the Content Marketing Institute, it was revealed that 93% B2B organizations now use content-based tactics for their marketing campaigns while 73% indicated they now produce more content than the previous year!

These are not mean figures. They are definitely an indication of what to expect in content marketing trends for 2014....

Newbies Left Behind, and The Top 14 Marketing Technology Articles Curated Monday, 1/27/14

Newbies Left Behind, and The Top 14 Marketing Technology Articles Curated Monday, 1/27/14 | Content Marketing | Scoop.it

Forrester’s recent report on the advancement of MA functionality is fascinating, ranging from “enhanced content creation models, multichannel engagement programs, and ramped up analytics—extending to predictive analytics.” (http://sco.lt/6L7D4T).

Yet on the other hand, studies continue to emerge about the low adoption rate by B2B marketers (anywhere from 5% to 30%), not to mention failed implementations.

What’s the new adopter to do in the face of increased functionality and complexity? Choose carefully.

The prospective MA user should not to overload with functionality, and work into a robust instance through increments. Stick with the blocking and tackling at first, then move toward play action passes, zone reads and the Cover 2 later on as you become more proficient (metaphors in honor of the forthcoming Super Bowl).

For vendors? There will be significant room at the beginner’s level as time goes on, but there needs to be a path towards increased functionality as the user becomes more proficient. There’s an opportunity at the low end of the market right now.

KISS.
