Content is King

Want that abandoned Twitter handle? Use TweetClaims.com and get in line

Want that abandoned Twitter handle? Use TweetClaims.com and get in line | Content is King | Scoop.it

Getting a good Twitter name can be very tough!

Many of the good names are taken and many of them aren’t even being used, frustrating users who’d like to put a good name to good use. Twitter says it’s planning a way to make abandoned names available again, and a new service, TweetClaims, lets you sign up to be notified when names you like become available again.

François-Xavier Schaeffer's insight:

So if there’s an @name that you’ve been dying to be known as for the rest of your life — say @soccer for instance, give it a shot.

Rumor: Quanta to build 65M iWatch, Q3 2014 release expected | Content is King | Scoop.it

A suspect new report out of China claims to have a great deal of specifics on Apple's rumored "iWatch," namely that it will debut in the third quarter of this year and will include advanced sensors to detect a user's heart rate and blood pressure, among other things.

François-Xavier Schaeffer's insight:

These insanely high predictions could only make sense if Apple would charge some ridiculously low amount for it, and would be launched in September along side iPhone 6 as an accessory.

This morning we announced that Lithium has acquired Klout, the pioneer in using big data to measure online expertise. I’m personally thrilled by what this represents for consumers and the brands they care about.

François-Xavier Schaeffer's insight:

The deal immediately seems to expand the reach of Lithium, which, according to a blog post on its web site, plans to combine the 100 million consumers on its platforms with the 500 million "touched by Klout."

Google Glass app offers new level of security for ATM users

Google Glass app offers new level of security for ATM users | Content is King | Scoop.it

A futuristic app uses Google Glass to add an extra layer of privacy for users withdrawing cash from ATM machines – by displaying a one-time personal identification number (PIN) which only the Glass user can see. Even attackers armed with Google Glass can’t decode the PIN – and watching users enter a PIN is useless, as it changes each time.

No more pin spying!
