Achieving "the thoughtful and useful aggregation and organization of content, context and commerce" as Rosenbaum writes, without, as Marty adds, distracting consumers from the goal of converting visits into sales is a huge challenge for commerci stes, especially given the ever shortening product life cycle.

TechCrunch: Design-focused e-commerce site Fab released a number of data this morning, and it's impressive to say the least. Fab has sold more than $6.5 million worth of product this past week, up from $1.7 million during the same period last year.

 

Therese's comment: eCommerce had a blast on BlackFriday and Cyber Monday. Fab.com no exception. No mention of shopping curation or social shopping.

Therese's comment: The club, community and the social features of Fab.com are fading away as the company's business grows. It now resembles any online retailer with a (strong??) editorial line and a lot of special deals. Unless one calls a buyer or a category manager a social curator, one can hardly speak anymore of social shopping curation.
