Internet Marketing Secrets - Taxonomy, SEO and Scoopit

Internet Marketing Secrets - Taxonomy, SEO and Scoopit | Content Marketing & Content Curation Tools For Brands | Scoop.it

Wrote this post on ScentTrail after Guillaume Decugis asked me a simple question. Had to prove there are no simple questions in Internet marketing (lol). I started trying to set a record for words in a comment box and then realized I needed to move to a ScentTrail Marketing post. The post outlines how Scoop.it is better equiped to cross the Content / Commerce Rubicon than any tool I've seen or worked with. A few tweaks to the UI, exposing the analytics to visitors and, grafting ecommerce easily into the engine solves the impossible and seemingly mutually exclusive.

Ecommerce is just another series of scoops:

Products L2 Subcategories Sale Area Reviews and other "tribal" "like me" content. Search

Add those features or just partner with Shopify or Magento Go and leave holes for the content in those great template based ecommerce partners and Scoop.it is the first to cross a big river. Hope so and hope I helped in some small way. This post may be ineresting to read if you want to see how I make decisions about commerce and content.

Critical Aspects of Content Curation In The Newsroom: Link and Attribution Are Essential - Steve Buttry | Content Marketing & Content Curation Tools For Brands | Scoop.it

Robin Good: Steve Buttry, who has already written several articles on content curation (see the end of his original article), just published this in-depth essay celebrating the launch of a new curation team at Digital First Media and pointing to many of the critical factors neeeded for a content / news curator to be effective.

[...] Steve Buttry also includes some valuable key guidelines on "how to add value" when curating content and suggests several types of curation approaches that can be used in the newsroom.

News360 Revamps Its iPad App: New Look, New Home Screen, New Reading Scores | TechCrunch

News360 Revamps Its iPad App: New Look, New Home Screen, New Reading Scores | TechCrunch | Content Marketing & Content Curation Tools For Brands | Scoop.it
Therese's comment: I had missed this mid July release of News360 new ipad app.
1) It is truly stunning in its ability to personnalize news aggregation by manually setting topic preferences AND by automatically importing semantic data from social networks like Twitter and Facebook and from personal knowledge bases like Evernote.
2) an ultra clever display gives a strongly visual overview of the news in form of a grid of "image + headline" blocks. Each block can then be flipped in 3D to reveal a bit more text, and flipped again to reveal social buttons. This makes 360news the most attractive and most easy to use yet compact interface.

This is automated curation at its best.

from TechCrunch: July 16 2012 News360 is releasing a new version of its iPad app today. It's meant to be a major revamp of the newsreading app, one that CEO Roman Karachinsky tells me has been in the works since August of last year...

Curated Fashion: How a Small Independent Web Magazine Creates Value While Being Sustainable - FEYT

Curated Fashion: How a Small Independent Web Magazine Creates Value While Being Sustainable - FEYT | Content Marketing & Content Curation Tools For Brands | Scoop.it

Robin Good: If you are looking for a good example of a web magazine using curation to create value for its readers while creating revenue, check out FEYT.

The minimalist publication curates fashion "themes" by providing original short-format content accompanied by human-curated sets of fashion items that fit the topic and which nicely complement each other.

The items showcased come from third-party fashion providers and Feyt makes a revenue/commision on each item sold, just like a classic affiliate would.

From Fashionista: "Feyt is a personal styling website, founded by fashion industry insiders, combining algorithmic technology and human curation to recommend designer fashion to high end customers based on their personal taste and style, monetizing these customers via global ecommerce affiliates.

In-house fashion experts score and rate seasonal fashion and style across a broad range of criteria and characteristics, rooted in individual style versus the more common approach of simple visual imagery."
