I wonder: Isn't the proliferation of discovery tools a self-defeating proposition? If there are more curation platforms than original sources, how is that going to help?

Note: A must read. A whole new set of content curation tools dedicated to shopping such as Svpply and Lyst. Will they displace generalist tools like Pinterest and Tumblr? I doubt it. But brands should take an interest in them. Delete the scoop?

About your thought, there is surely an increase of discovery tools and curation platforms, but those are still few, really reliable and continuous development (as Scoop.it).
About the original sources, today they are an infinite universe which daily grows unabated.
