TNW: Well that was quicker than expected. Just a few hours ago, we wrote about a hack to let you block users on Pinterest, and now the social network has made the feature official. The company ... Therese's comment: Pinterest has quite a strict policy regarding offensive content. Blocking other users from commeting and participating in one's board was one of the top user requests. Apparently, some users/women were harassed onPinterest. I haven't come across any sich abuse, but there surely was some spam going on. Anyway, it's always good to have a well moderated community.

This purchase by Pinterest is interesting. We can assume Pinterest has amazing metrics on what really works on its content network. Does it buy a celebrity gossip rag or art magazine? No, it confirms one of my reactions to Pinterest - Pinterest is a foodie's dream.
Another thing I like about this purchase is the statement it makes about the importance of platform curation and curation in general. He who creates the place where conversations are had and mashed up wins. Here was my take on the death of websites and the rise of platforms from more than a year ago:
