I chose to post this piece today because as Jeff says "the social media ecosystem is now so extensive and encompassing that it would be best to stand back and reflect on some significant events and evolutionary social networks that could make a difference this year that are impacting how we communicate and connect. The comments from readers are just as interesting.

**It's important to stay abreast of these different enviornments where we blog, curate consume content and information. Knowing the landscape and understanding how to communicate in each one network is a whole other conversation.

I was happy to see this article written by Beverly Macy, CEO of Gravity Summit, LLC and author of "The Power of Real Time Social Media", for the Huffington Post.  My very good friend Karan Bavandi is quoted in here and believe me, he really knows his stuff!


Here's what he said:

What caught my attention:


"How are we consuming content? How we're being effected by what we read. The social fabric of how we consume media is changing. We get news on our smartphones, Ipads, accessing the social graph through multiple channels. We're never unplugged, we're always checking FB, Twitter, email."


Trusted souces who curate quality content consistently by adding context, will be very important as all of this evolves. Brands who educate their consumers on how to access their content in ways that fit their consumption habits and make it user friendly will thrive.

Howard Rheingold #mindAmp, does an excellent job of interviewing Robin Good in this video. Both are excellent curators and their discussion here is insightful, thought provoking and loaded with practical information for anyone who has the passion and the sensibility to select several pieces around a topic, add context, interact with others, build community around it and so much more..

I recommend you listen to this more than once, it's definitely worthy of your time!
