janlgordon's insight:

I selected this article from Curatti written by Mike Allton because it provides insight on how to become a successful online entrepreneur.

Learn the best practices of influencers making money online.

Best Monetization Practices of Online Influencers

Finding out how to make money from your website and marketing can be a challenge. I agree that you can accomplish this by learning from experts who have a proven track record.

Alton goes over how influencers have built their business through key monetization efforts.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Email marketing can provide a great return as this educates the readers. This can go even farther than social media marketing.

  • Syndicating regular content and building relationships will help you generate more income and influence. This will help frame what your brand represents.

  • Use micro-targeting ads on Facebook to attract influencers. This is more effective than conference sponsorships.

What is The Future Of Online Community? Why You Should Care

What is The Future Of Online Community? Why You Should Care | Curation, Social Business and Beyond | Scoop.it

This is a great post, very insightful, observations are right on target, by Vanessa DiMauro, CEO Leader Networks

Lots to digest here but what particularly caught my attention as a content curator was this:

What is the role of content in creating value in communities?

How will that change? Will value come in other ways?

People come for content and stay for community.

Access to valuable content (content that people can’t get elsewhere) is the single most compelling driver for participating in an online community.

****Content serves as the trigger to join, and fuels the community over time by providing contexts for conversations between peers / members.

****Through the use of social media, and especially online communities,

****professionals now have the ability to reach, connect with, learn from and influence other professionals who share an interest or a passion in the topics of interest.

****Sounds like this community - Scoopit!

Thought leadership is the new currency of credibility.

Smart Social Curation Site Launch: Connects Experts, Topics & Audience

NEW YORK, Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ziff Davis Enterprise (ZDE), a leader in innovative enterprise IT media and...

Excerpt:

Smart Social works for a variety of IT technology solution offerings and allows marketers to share content with social value and variable depth on a broader level. When combined with third-party subject matter expertise, Smart Social enables a vendor's sales teams to proactively engage with customers and respond to their needs.

"One of the main principals of Smart Social is engaging the conversation where it currently exists and amplifying it using our editorial, custom curation, and relevant assets," said Anthony Adams, Senior Vice President of Products, Ziff Davis Enterprise.

"The current approach, used by many in our space, is to build destination sites and try to engage a conversation there. With Smart Social, we build a curation site and bring the assets and experts to the conversation where it is naturally happening."

Smart Social is fully turnkey, thereby reducing the strain on the sponsor's internal resources. Ziff Davis Enterprise creates, manages and nurtures the growth of every Smart Social program.

This includes the development of custom blog posts, discussion threads, and custom groups to ensure audience alignment with the topic. Ziff Davis Enterprise Subject Matter Experts will work with the sponsoring vendor to showcase how they can solve critical, detailed user issues and foster community around solutions.

Curating The "Instant Deal" to create millions of brand ambassadors

Curating The "Instant Deal" to create millions of brand ambassadors | Curation, Social Business and Beyond | Scoop.it
Great article by Douglas Crets, blogger for Fast Company - Excellent observations and great information!!

This stood out for me:

"This is key - Those brands--really, all brands--will have to move towards curation as a method for engaging with consumers, finding the millions of Lee Iacocca's out there who are not the real CEOs, but can help manage the brand with their insights from the consumer's point of view".

Build a Great Relationship with Your Instagram Followers

Build a Great Relationship with Your Instagram Followers | Curation, Social Business and Beyond | Scoop.it
Do you know who your "best" Instagram followers are? First, you need to strongly consider what makes someone a great follower t
janlgordon's insight:

I selected this article from Curatti written by Jenn Herman because it provides new insights into how to better connect with your Instagram community.

It's important to know who your followers are more than how many.

Improve Your Communication on Instagram

Mobile audiences are looking for authenticity. I agree that you can appeal to your prospects with benefits and rewards that show them you care.

Herman shows how to get to know your Instagram followers better in order to provide value.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The best type of follower can mean several things. It includes those who engage with your posts, how influential they are, and how likely they are to make a purchase from you.

  • If you have been using Instagram for a while take a look at the activity that has already taken place to discover who your followers are. Make sure they are intersted in what you have to offer.

  • Attract better followers through creative posts. Engage with your community and ask them questions. Tag specific people in your posts when mentioning something about them.

How To Use Content That Turns Engagement Into Action

How To Use Content That Turns Engagement Into Action | Curation, Social Business and Beyond | Scoop.it

Good article, whether you're working for a client, creating or curating content, the same things apply.....

Here's what caught my attention:

Content is the medium — it’s a means to an end, not the end itself. We do our work to incite change, or generate engagement for our clients, and we need to create the best content possible to achieve this. But at the end of the day, unlike with a TV network,

**the content is not the point — the action is.

Focus on the main objectives

Remember, you create content to spark a consumer into action. But every piece of content must, in its own right, fit as part of your total marketing plan.

The ongoing conversation is content

Individuals will comment and repost, and you have to accept that. But you must also recognize that how you acknowledge outside perspectives (whether positive or negative) and how quickly you share your client’s point of view is as impactful as the content that inspired the conversation in the first place.

**Your comments are content.
