Technology in the classroom

Technology in the classroom | Sharing Digital Resources - Curation by Kyle Lacko | Scoop.it
A guide to the technologies your child may be exposed to in the classroom.
Kyle Lacko's insight:

The final item I have curated in my collection is not a resource, but an insight into the resources which we are empowering our next generation of students with. The web log post provides an account for many technologies we are imbedding into learning contexts and sharing experiences while we do it.

EDX2170 English Curriculum and Pedagogy: Digital Story ePortfolio - ePortfolio | Sharing Digital Resources - Curation by Kyle Lacko | Scoop.it
Mahara is an open source ePortfolio and social networking web application.
It provides users with tools to create and maintain a digital portfolio of their learning and social networking features to allow users to interact with each other.
Kyle Lacko's insight:

As if sharing personal teaching resources wasn't enough, I have shared this. This is a Digital Story that I created in mid-2013 for the course EDX2170: English Curriculum and Pedagogy. It was created through Windows Movie Maker and then uploaded through Mahara, detailing a narrative that I made up and implied teaching strategies and ideas throughout. I hope that it is an effective teaching resource that could provide students with ideas of digital literacy as they engage with multimodal language in English learning.

Kyle Lacko's insight:

This is an example of how an explicit learning area can be integrated with ICTs to promote a greater awareness of technological impacts. Created by Grace McCabe and myself for ED03476: Drama in Arts Education, the site Weebly (www.weebly.com) was used to promote reflections, teaching episodes and online tool kits that could be shared to support existing or future units. The project also ensured that technological awareness was developed to support concepts and skills associated with drama.

This is a teacher resource that I  completed in EDX3280 last year through WebQuest (QuestGarden, 2013). The resource integrates technologies with mathematics concepts and processes.
