Exponents can be tricky to learn, and this game provides plenty of multiplication practice for your fifth grade math student!
Nicolette Cranga's insight:
I found this game on Pinterest and I believe it could be great for use in the classroom. However, I would modify the game so that there is some risk, ad strategic skills. For example, instead on students only being dealt two cards throughout the whole game, I will treat the game like "21" where you have the chance to pull other cards.
A fraction is a way to represent a number divided by another. For example, 2/3 is 2 divided by 3. An exponent (usually represented by a superscript or “^”) is a way to represent repeated multiplication.
