Treehouse architecture in Mexico

Treehouse architecture in Mexico | Contemporary Art, Design and Technology | Scoop.it

This stunning treehouse in Mexico as actually one of four townhouses built in a beautiful garden filled plot where going up made the most sense given the small footprint and the lovely views of the surrounding trees.

Designed by Alejandro Sachez Garcia architecture, each townhouse is 3 storeys with 2 sides of glass and 2 sides in timber slatting for privacy. Each home has a rooftop garden and features a strong connection to the balmy outdoors. - See more at: http://www.designhunter.net/treehouse-architecture-mexico/#sthash.bgFxDztc.dpuf

Finalized USB 3.1 spec doubles the speed of USB 3.0 to 10Gbps

Finalized USB 3.1 spec doubles the speed of USB 3.0 to 10Gbps | Contemporary Art, Design and Technology | Scoop.it

If you thought USB 3.0 was face-meltingly fast, wait until you try transferring files with what's coming next. On Thursday, the USB promoter group announced that it's signed off on the final specifications for USB 3.1—a technological level-up that stands poised to take USB 3.0's 5 gigabits per second transfer rates and double it to 10Gbps. "SuperSpeed USB," indeed.

Thunderbolt’s future looks even more precarious as 10Gbps Superspeed USB announced
Conversations for Inquiring Minds's curator insight, August 1, 2013 6:31 PM

The continuing advancements in data transfer, storage, and memory are the building blocks that will allow a total integration with television, internet, telephone, and computer.  The cloud has given a platform that allows users to share with others virtually at will. Memory continues to expand allowing multitasking at levels that would have crashed previous computers.  Finally data transfer continues to improve but still has some way to go before we'll see a total integration.

The advancements we have already have opened the way for streaming video and on-demand on all devices; however, we still can go farther.  There's no doubt we will.

François-Xavier Schaeffer's comment, August 2, 2013 3:26 AM
I'm having USB 3.0 peripherals. 5Gbps is already very quick. I look forward for USB 3.1. Sadly to get it on my Macbook Pro i'll need to buy the upcoming model equipped with USB 3.1

situated within the volumes of off-shore wind turbine nacelles, the lofts provide constant shelter for a group of technicians taking care of the equipment.

Well... this is quite the interesting idea. But I think that is as far as it will go. With the challenges of actually getting to the loft and the noise of a gigantic turbine I am not sure it is the best option for a loft.

Still... it is an intriguing sci-fi idea.
