The exhibition is divided into five sections dedicated to the geographical areas Salgado has photographed: the South, The Shrines of Nature, Africa, the Far North, the Amazon and the Pantanal.

Only one painting", curated by Ludovico Pratesi and the Director of the German Academy, Dr. Joachim Blüher, compares the work of a German artist with an Italian artist.

The exhibition is dedicated to the American sculptor of Russian origin, Louise Berliawsky Nevelson (1899 - 1988).

Works by Louise Nevelson occupy an important place in twentieth century sculpture and she is correctly classified amongst the historic avant-gardes, from Futurism to Dadaism, especially amid those artists who used everyday objects for their creations such as Duchamp, Picasso and Schwitters.
