Primary Source #3 A Look at Ridiculous Ads Through the Years: The 1920′s | Consumerism and Advertisting | Scoop.it

This last image was also made in the 1920's. It was made for females who believed that they were over weight. It was a soap that they say will reduce your fat with every wash they they took with the soap. This soap was created by a company named '' LA-MAR LABORATORIES''. On the image it shows a woman very unhappy with her weight then showed her getting happy when she started slimming down. I really don't know if people really broght this or believed that they would lose weight. I personally think that the soap that ''reduce'' wieght is stupid. How do you wash away fat that is on the inside of your body.

Primary Source #1 | Consumerism and Advertisting | Scoop.it

This primary source was made in the 1920's. It was being advertisted to parent who wanted or needed for their kids to stop sucking their thumb. This was created as a safe and sanitary and also comfortable way to get kids to stop sucking thumbs. I think people thought this was a good idea really because it was the only way. i also think they liked it because they had on other way of getting kids to stop. I think that its a funny way to stop kids from that. I also think its not the only way to stop them from sucking they thumb because we don't have things like this now.

This image was made in the 1920's. It was used as the cigarette that protects your throat against the irritating cough. It was made by a company named '' Lucky Strike''. They said that 20,679 physicians say that it is less irritating. I think that people are 50/50 on this cigarette becasue all the other physicaians are busy recommending the product named '' Camel '' another cigarette. i personally think that ALL cigarettes are nasty and a very bad habit. I thnk that f you don't smoke at all you don't have to worry about a irriating cough.

Once upon a time ago I got a chain email from someone that listed famous ads from the 1920′s all the way through the 1960′s. Some of them were just so ridiculous, I did not believe them...
