Integrating Social Media with other Media is the Key! | Marketing Director Blog

Integrating Social Media with other Media is the Key! | Marketing Director Blog | consumer engagement | Scoop.it
How are you integrating social media at your workplace? If you are not spending time integrating, you may be headed in the wrong direction.
shahd saif's insight:

I found this article very interesting, because it took on a different perspective on social media. Instead of discussing the usual, and discussing how social media is the most important type of marketing that all companies need to focus on. Instead this article discusses how social media is losing its hype. The author discusses attending a luncheon, where the presenters told attendees that if they do not keep on top of the likes and followers, they are not being successful. But the key to success is it to integrate social media with other marketing platforms. The article goes into further details by explaining how to integrate social media with other marketing medias into the business process. The first step is by using brochures. By entering information into the brochures about how you can find more information by going into the different social media websites. Content marketing is also another way of getting using twitter of to communicate information associated with the website and blogs. Tradeshow marketing, client service, invitations, job recruiting, developing new leads and keeping in contact with current clients are all other tips that have been discussed to help integrate social media in order to make it more successful. Social media isn’t the only answer to successful marketing, it is only part of a system. It should only be integrated into other business processes, and not the only focus.

Burgeoning digital channels and new avenues of customer insight give marketers new opportunities to build affinity and sales through direct marketing.
shahd saif's insight:

This article discusses and explains what direct marketing really means. It focuses on the fact that direct marketing is all usually done through online media, by using social websites such as twitter, blogs and facebook. In order to be a succesful marketer, one must be able to reach their customers directly and on a personal level. By doing so, companies are able to get intouch with customers about recent purchases they would've made, and find out what could be modified in order for it to be a better product. It also dicusses that if direct marketing is used effectively, combined with different types of data, it could allow marketers to develop an emotional bond with each individual customer. When all these are factored together with the developing mobile marketing toolas, it allows even more direct access to its customers, by creating apps. shahd saif's insight:

This article explains the importance of being able to contact your customers through communicating your products in the right way. In order to do so, you must try different combinations of advertising. these can be done by promotion, PR, direct marketing and interactive marketing. more than one needs to be chosen to have a successful marketing communication mix. It also then goes into further detail by mentioning four important categories that need to be identified. Target customer, communication channels, cost estimates and measuring. Although it does really clarify why those four were mentioned, they did have some useful information under each category. It explains that target customer is the marketing segment that you have chosen, or think are most likely to buy your products. By identifying what your target customer is, you therefore make it easier upon yourself to create the products to meet their needs. The next step is to choose your communicating channel, according to the type of product you're selling. the more high-end your product is, the more you will spend on advertising it, the cheaper and simpler your product, the simpler your campaigns will be. once you have chosen your marketing communication mix, you will need to identify the costs of such campaigns. once all the above have been created and published, results of the marketing program need to be measured, to identify the success or lack of the campaigns.

The Importance of Branding Yourself

The Importance of Branding Yourself | consumer engagement | Scoop.it
shahd saif's insight:

I find this article very useful for anyone that is starting a new buisness. the step by the step guide makes it seem very easy and simple to follow.

It explains why the details really matter in how your brand is created. for example the logo created, the colors that are used make the logo in the persons mind. and also how slogans are very important when creating a brand image. Every knows the warehouse slogan "the warehouse where everyone gets a bargain". its short, catchy, has the name of the company and it whats it best for which is the bargain.

Its also very important to convey the personality of the brand. so the types of advertising, logo and slogans all need to convey what your personality is, is it fun? young? mature? etc.

and once all that is created, to stay true to that brand. and to continue to convey the same message.

Marketing objectives - The importance of cause related marketing - Cadbury Schweppes | Cadbury Schweppes case studies and information | The Times 100 | consumer engagement | Scoop.it
shahd saif's insight:

This article uses Cadbury Schweppes as a company that has been successful marketing focused company. It's secret to success is the focus on satisfying customers needs. It consistently listened to the customers, and their changing needs. It responds to the feedback by creating new products to meet those new needs. Cadbury Schweppes focuses on two growing markets, beverage and confectionary. It also mentions, one product in particular that was loved by Australians. It Cadbury's Yowie, a product that was created for a cause. the product is an example of how to successfully use cause related marketing. It was even voted best new confectionary product which is related to an important cause. An investigation was later carried out, to find out why the community loved the product so much. the results show that consumers support cause related marketing when it is communicated correctly. One point that was quite interesting, is that cause related marketing has remained a relatively untapped opportunity. Which means that if more companies follow the footsteps of Cadbury Schweppes, by creating effective messages and communicating them with the consumers clearly, any company could achieve the same success.

Nike, Snickers and Fosters have created powerful integrated campaigns – so what's their secret?

Nike, Snickers and Fosters have created powerful integrated campaigns – so what's their secret? | consumer engagement | Scoop.it
For an increasing number of campaigns, integration across a large number of media is essential. Tim Bourne, chief executive of Exposure, explains how it should be done
shahd saif's insight:

This article begins by describing how all advertising and Marketing agencies claim to integrate all different types of marketing together, but that is unfortunately not the case. it is often impossible to create a campaigns that can work well across online media, TV, print and outdoor. It then goes into further detail of discussing the common mistake made, which is to have the same look and feel across all the marketing channels. Three successful examples were used, to show how integrating the marketing communications could be achieved. Nike used the olympics to create its "find your greatness campaign". the campaign focused on reminding people, that greatness goes beyond elite athlete. that anyone could achieve that and aspire in thier own goal. which goes with the Brand's slogan "just do it". such a campaign is very easy to fit into any channel, whether online or TV.

Snickers is one the brands that also created a great campaign that could be across into any channel. the campaign "you're not you when you're hungry", had different ads on the TV, showing different scenarios of how people act when they're hungry. helping them connect with the consumer emotions. Celebrities also used twitter to post messages that were out of character, which demonstrated the ease of moving from TV to online media. Those two had two different ideas for their campaigns, but they're common ground was the versatility of the idea.

shahd saif's insight:

This article is spot on. Emotions definetly affect our decision making when purchasing a particular brand. Specially for females are commonly known for their emotions controlling their choice of purchases. it also affects they loyalty we have towards the brand. once the marketers can connect with the consumers emotions, the brand can guarantee their loyalty. because most people once they feel that loyalty develop, it is very rare for them to break it and try another brand. also those types of customers are not going to give up thier loyalty if the brand increases it prices by a dollar or two.

Branding and image campaigns is so important that every brand can not miss out. Is a MUST to success. For example me, when the brand is appealed to me ( consumer) sense and mood to make that connection, and sooner both (me and the brand) is accomplish, I will slowly build the loyalty to the brand or when the brand is popular I tend to build up loyalty to the brand secertly. Emotions is definitely affect my decision making and I am sure others as well too.. Good One Shahd!

What Consumers Really Want from Mobile Commerce

What Consumers Really Want from Mobile Commerce | consumer engagement | Scoop.it
M-commerce is prized for its convenience, but consumers want more from their mobile shopping experience.
shahd saif's insight:

This article presented a lot of good facts with regards to how consumers make decisions on their purchases. but i think the studies that was created were a bit too general. for example, men and women are known to have different ways of decision making when making a purchase. most females will choose and item on how it looks, how it feels. as compared to men who dont really care much for looks, and focus mainly on the features and functions of the phone. which is why apple products are so popular with the females. because they enjoy the size of thier phones, color, the color of the laptops, thier weight etc.

So i think when dicussions are made with regards to what consumers want, it should create two different categories for and women, because thier wants and needs are completely different.

Rachel Bom Choi's comment, August 22, 2013 5:23 AM
I think your suggestion about different decision makings between men and women. It is true that reason for decision makings is different for sex. However decision making could be divided by many factors like age, country, and race. Range of reason for decision making is very broad and various. In this article author tell us about decision making of consumers from mobile commerce. I think the approach of this article is interesting because nowadays mobile commerce is growing rapidly. The article published that most prevalent consumer concerns about mobile shopping are personal data security and functionality. So this information will be useful for business in mobile commerce. However, if the article is got detail and diversity about the survey, it will be more useful.
