A business is, in essence, a vast collection of knowledge and information. It's what's behind the creation of benchmark products and services, and it exists as a web of insights and ideas shared by staff. It's in your documentation—your manuals, guidelines, lists, databases, memos, and files. And it's also in the minds of your team members, as the expertise you need to capture to enhance your business. Knowledge is power, and when properly harnessed, it fuels a successful company.
Technology has had a tremendous impact on knowledge management (KM), inspiring the development of robust software platforms to leverage KM strategies. Knowledge management software continues to evolve in response to new demands and challenges.

Our own brains regularly deceive us in order to make sense of the world we live in. Most of the time, it’s nothing more than an innocent effort to save face. Our brain will tell us we’re smarter and better looking than everyone else, and that any fault brought to our attention should probably be blamed on someone else. It will advocate for our convictions, pointing out any evidence that supports them and politely ignoring any that doesn’t. And it will even spare us from the mental strain of thinking beyond the stereotypes it has so conveniently crafted for us. The human brain is our best friend, and our worst enemy, and unless we keep one eye peeled, it can hijack our learning completely.

We, at Learnnovators, were fortunate to interview him a couple of months ago for our "Crytsal Balling With Learnnovators" series. True to form, Jay was brutally honest with his answers and didn't mince words while expressing his views on the state of L&D and its practitioners. No wonder then tha
Let’s be honest - too many companies start out with collaborative innovation programs thinking about the complexities of what they might need: gamification features; rewards and incentive schemes; community analysis visualizations; little tweaks to the software; complex reviewing methods; and so on. In the end, the simple principles of ideation, collaboration, and good old fashioned leadership are what matter most. We need a way to keep our minds focused on these basic points, a shared vision to which everybody on the team, including the vendor, can work towards. This led me to work on a Collaborative Innovation Canvas – shamelessly borrowing the concept from Osterwalder and Pigneur’s Business Model Canvas – as a shared way to focus on the core elements of a program.
