Tony Palmeri's curator insight, October 25, 2015 9:47 AM

I scooped this topic because I have many dear friends at my school. Not having that sort of support network would make my teaching job much more difficult to navigate. In a profession that relies on collaboration and collegiality, having relationships with colleagues is certainly beneficial. However, I know that sometimes there are personality conflicts and not all relationships will be personal - some must remain professional. I find that my work friends are a source of inspiration they drive me to be a better teacher. I also depend on them for emotional support if I'm having a tough day. Bouncing ideas, sharing strategies , and even tending to logistical matters like making copies. Friends are a valued resource in the work environment and I believe that they are indicative of school cultures that enhance student success.
