Blog: The promise of the global classroom realized | KANet | Connect All Schools | Scoop.it

I recently returned from Seattle, where I was attending the annual conference of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The keynote speaker was Bill Gates, and his topic was innovation, specifically the power of new technologies to transform the classroom. He spoke of many things – the ability of new technologies to deliver new and powerful content, to personalize student learning and to connect students from great distance and bring them together in a virtual classroom. But the highlight for me was when he spoke of the Global Online Academy (GOA). King’s, of course, is a founding member of the Academy.
