The many years of conflict in northern Uganda between government forces and the Lord’s Resistance Army took a heavy toll on the civilian population. The LRA carried out killings, rapes, looting, mutilations and abductions. But new research shows that Ugandan humanitarian workers were also deeply affected by the chronic and traumatic stress during those years.
CARE is seeking an experienced Program Manager to be responsible for the overall management of the Foundation for Peace Programme in Yemen, guided by the programme proposal, bringing together expertise from each implementing partner. The position will ensure quality implementation of the project and documentation of its learning. S/he will ensure that M&E systems are sound and that best practices are shared and implemented. S/he is responsible for overall programme narrative reporting, collating data from each of the implementing partners, and overseeing the other key staff of this project.
BCS seeks the services of an experienced education consultant with specialized expertise in conflict and crisis-affected environments to provide assistance in the design, development, and delivery of training on conflict-sensitivity in education. The overall objective is to familiarize USAID education officers with a conflict sensitivity checklist and build associated knowledge and skills. The consultant will provide subject matter expertise and serve as a facilitator for the training session—along with a USAID co-facilitator. The majority of the work will be done by the consultant and Business-Community Synergies (BCS) staff, with USAID staff serving mainly in a reviewer role aside from the work done in facilitation. The consultant will work mainly with the BCS Training Education Sector Teams (TEST) Manager, instructional designers, and evaluators. He or she will develop and provide technical content in relevant areas and aids in course design and development, including materials development. He or she will serves as a presenter/instructor to facilitate adult learning in a video teleconference context. He or she will apply a variety of instructional techniques to support achievement of learning objectives.
