The rate of bullying based on racism is increasing. I think We need to prepare youth (and people of all ages) to function and succeed in a diverse society and world and to value not only their own cultures, but those of others. We need to respect strong cultural family relationships and a persons sense of responsibility towards their community. We also need to reflect on the lives and perspectives of people who are different from ourselves and support them to lead lives in a safe environment where we are sensitive to their cultural needs and past /current experiences. Remember, each and every one of us is unique and different and this is what makes us special. Embrace diversity dont abuse it.
I agree with this post. In fact, prejudice is caused by how we are raised. Many times parents pass on prejudice beliefs to their children. A lot people raised in the southern part of the country are prejudice against blacks. In the early to mid 1960’s, prejudice was alive and well in the south. Blacks had their own bathrooms and were forced to ride in the back of city busses. It’s hard to believe that was doing on only 40 years ago. A lot of Middle Eastern countries are very prejudice against women.
After watching this video, I realised that many Japanese people were oblivious about their country's racist nature. I think it is because the Japanese government had censored most of racist issues thus, Compared to the Germans I don’t think the Japanese sense of racial superiority is that specific. There is a sense of Japan’s superiority politically speaking. I think the sense of Japan’s superiority fundamentally comes from the fact that Japan is a unique country because of its emperor system, it’s a divine country, that kind of thing. That is why Japanese dislike foreigners coming to their country as they are afraid that foreigners might ruined their traditional ways and culture. The Japanese people want to preserve their culture very badly. In another words, I dare to say that Japanese people are rigid and narrow-minded, I think ten years down the road if japan is still like that, it's economy will go down hill.
