Racial harmony is a very hard thing to achieve, and I like how they have never given up the fight on equality for all races, even after 50 years. Although it is less then 50 years ago, racial differences still existed here and there.

One may think that Singapore is a very multi racial and harmonious country, and it still is, but the riot that happened last year showed that there is still some racial resentment shimmering below the surface of Singapore. I think that there should be more effort to have harmony the many races in Singapore together to prevent anymore riots like this breaking out.

This article is really intriguing. It shows not only a racial divide in the form of a fence, but a social class divide too. There were many against the destruction of the fence, because they were afraid of theft from the 'uneducated' residents of New Haven, but hasn't theft happened even with the fence on? It is also a racial divide as it is stereotype to say that the black people of New Haven is not as good as the white people in Hamden. They are all equal.
