Really great video (and slides) about how to increase the success of sales and marketing from Marketo and MathMarketing .  Some of the key points are as follows:

1) Have one process for both marketing and sales (not two)

2) "Hold marketing's feet to the fire--it works." (marketers smile:)

3) Blogging beats traditional marketing

We certainly believe in #3 here at Scoop.it--content marketing through publishing by curation is an effective demand gen strategy.

Does Website Speed Affect Your Ranking? (infographic)

Does Website Speed Affect Your Ranking? (infographic) | conferences | Scoop.it
Have you ever been to a slow site and it felt like it took hours to load? You look down at your computer clock and really only 30 seconds have gone by. That's just the user experience on a slow site- the real question is “Does your website speed effect your ranking?” Will your slightly slower site be penalized by Google and other search engines when you clients are even looking for you?In this easy to understand graphic, we see that 1 second makes all the difference in the world. And after just 6 short weeks of poor load times, your site can lose 75% of it’s traffic to that page.If you have a low ranking you might want to follow some of the Google Guidelines to pre-load your most popular pages to increase your site’s overall performance.

Mike Allton's curator insight, January 7, 2014 11:25 AM

Do you pay attention to your Klout Score?

While there are plenty of concerns about how Klout Scores are created, and the appearance of being a popularity contest, there really are legitimate and valuable reasons for paying attention to the social score.

1. Businesses can use it for competitive research and comparison.
2. Social Marketing Strategies can be analyzed.

And more.

You see, rather than you and I comparing our Klout, as though there is any such comparison, it's far more effective when used as a barometer for your own activity, and comparisons with your competition and similar businesses (Apples to Apples).

Is your Klout rising or falling? How are your individual network scores performing? If there's been a significant change recently, what activity or lack of activity might have prompted that?

If perceived in that light, I think Klout can be remarkably helpful. The article below goes into more detail on how businesses can use the tool.

How about you? Have you put any value in your Klout Score?

Thanks, and have a great day!

#SocialMedia  #Klout #Business
