Systematic discrimination by the establishment and popular racism have been some of the fundamental elements of the conflict to date. It seems that another element will now be added: violent conflicts between Jewish and ...

Robert Christian's insight:

There is a lot of racial discrimination between the Arabs and Jews in Israel. This is caused by the insensitivity and hurtful remarks one race makes to another. This would cause a lot of tension between the two races and would eventually lead to fights which is dangerous. They already resorted to throwing stones or molotovs at each other and this would get even worse if they do not resolve this conflict.

This article is indeed worrying as the conflicts between arab and jewish citizens has escalated to a whole new level.Such conflicts are  useless and avoidable all it does, is succesfully  breed a new generation of youths to hate each due to their difference in ethnicity and thus no good can come out of such conflicts other then more hate which is a vicious cycle as hate can only lead to more hate

Why Germans distrust Islam | Germany | DW.DE | 21.01.2013

Why Germans distrust Islam | Germany | DW.DE | 21.01.2013 | Conflict And Prejudice | Scoop.it
With the growing number of Muslims, and a series of failed terror attacks, distrust of Islam is rising. Fewer than one-fifth of Germans believe Islam is compatible with German culture.

Robert Christian's insight:

A survey conducted by University Of Bielefeld showed that only 19% of Germans believe that Muslims are compatible with them. It also shows that 46% of them think there are too many muslims and 30% of them are afraid of terrorist attacks. This shows that they are scared and stereotypical that muslims cause terrosim and are therefore prejudiced against muslims.

This article sheds light on an issue mirrored in many other country's prejudice and discrimination targeted towards Islamist due to the actions of a few. Even more pressing is the issue of populism, capitalizing on the ignorance of people. Groups have sprung up fanning flames to a simmering fire potentially resulting in disastrous consequences. This shows the inherent danger that allows prejudice to boil over into conflict should it be incited.

Israel-Gaza Conflict Takes Toll On Pregnant Women

GAZA CITY -- When Israeli airstrikes hit Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza this week, Sena Alissa held her pregnant belly as blood dripped between her legs.

Robert Christian's insight:

The Israel-Gaza conflict has affected even pregnant women in Israel. Without this conflict, they would not have to worry about all these pregnant women as they would be able to focus on helping them but due to the conflict, they are unable to do so and this affected those pregnant women experiencing this.

This article again addresses the issue of the Gaza Strip Bombing caused by the Israeli soldiers and the terrorist. After reading this article, I got mixed feelings as firstly, it really puts my mind at ease after reading that the lady safely gave birth during the war. Secondly, however, this article also gives me terror and chills as I read about how the war causes so many people to lose their lives and that people cannot live in peace everyday due to the bombings and the rocket. Every seconds, minutes and hours, people have to live in fear, fearing that in split seconds their love ones might be gone, just like how the mother fears for her new-born child and wants to protect her newborn baby girl. From this article, I feel the importance of cherishing your love ones and protecting them at any course.
