The Ulmertond Road project is located within the city of Largo in Pinellas County. This is a complex urban construction and widening project which includes five Joint project agreements with the local utility companies. The projects consists of utility relocation, drainage, roadway widening, paving, signalizations, lighting signage, box culvert widening and pavement markings along SR 688 from Lake Seminole Bypass Canal to El Centro/Ranchero Boulevard. The project started in January of 2012 and is currently on schedule for completion the fall of 2015.

The I-75 project is located near Venice within Sarasota County Florida., FDOT District 1. This projects consists of adding lanes and rehabilitating pavement including, milling and resurfacing, widening, improving drainage, installing guardrail and a high tension cable barrier system, widening of existing bridges and approaches, providing intelligent transportation system components, lighting and signing and pavement marking along State Road 93 (I-75), from west of Sumter Boulevard, to east of River Road in Sarasota County. The Conalvias project started in October of 2013 and currently on schedule to be completed in the late spring of 2015.

Having completed four Florida projects in 2013, Conalvias USA currently has three transportation projects under construction. They include the widening and maintenance of Interstate 75 in Sarasota County, the construction of a bridge and crossover on Metro Parkway in Fort Myers and the Ulmerton Road urban construction and widening project in Largo. Conalvias combined experience includes the construction of more than 1,250 miles of primary and secondary highways throughout United States, Colombia, Peru and Panama.

Conalvias USA saved the Florida Department of Transportation a substantial amount with our successful structural design modifications and implementation of a Bridge Cost Saving Initiative Proposal (CSIP) on our Metro Parkway Project

Water Management

Conalvias USA has secured its place in Florida as a leader with construction of the St. Lucie C-44 Canal Box Culvert and Spillway structure, an important water management and mitigation project for the US Army Corps of Engineers. We have constructed water treatment facilities, water management systems and wastewater collection systems in other countries. Among our portfolio of water and wastewater projects are basic sanitation works for the capital city of Peru including construction of potable water storage facilities, conduction lines, and sewage systems as well as the automation of 110 stations. In addition to large water management projects in Peru, Conalvias has also completed several large water management projects in Colombia which have over 1000 miles of combined drainage, sanitary sewer and water services.

Mrs. Nyree Quintero

 Conalvias USA’s Vice President Nyree Quintero holds a master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering and Business Administration. She is certified as a general contractor in Florida and has more than 20 years of experience with heavy civil infrastructure. Since expanding its operations in 2010, Conalvias USA has entrusted more than 60 employees and its entire Florida market to Mrs. Quintero. 

 

Mr. Juan Hernandez

Juan Hernandez currently holds the position of Contract and Planning Director for Conalvias USA. Before completing his education in Civil Engineering from FIU, Mr. Hernandez worked for the first 17 years of his career as a Consultant for the FDOT holding several positions such as; Inspector, Senior Inspector, Contract Support Specialist to Project Engineer. During his tenure as a consultant for the FDOT Mr. Hernandez, also analyzed and was key in the equitable resolution and settlement of several construction claims between contractors and the FDOT.

 

Mr. Paul Miller

 Mr. Miller graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Building Construction. He possesses over 30 years of experience in the road construction industry. Mr. Miller has held the titles of Estimator, Project Manager, Operations Manager, Branch / Division Manager. He prides himself on quality work and consistent early completion record with several early completion bonus/incentives.

 

Ms. Paola Gutierrez

Safety Manager Paola Gutierrez ensures that Conalvias follows the best and most current safety practices. With more than 16 years of experience in the field, Ms. Gutierrez is responsible for all of the project controls, including but not limited to, scheduling, schedule reviews and schedule updates. She also supports project closeouts and the production of supporting documents.
