Five lessons, each is differentiated as Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced. Mapped to three sets of national standards. Excellent way to get started teaching search skills. (I know there's no room in your curriculum to do this. Perhaps that's what's wrong with your curriculum?)Seize the opportunity to help your students develop real 21st Century Skills.

Stephanie Sapp's curator insight, April 27, 2014 8:14 AM

I like that it includes AASL Standards.  We must start teaching technology standards in every class.

i'm sure that most of nowaday's teachers have used ICT's in classroom and actually enjoy doing it. It has became a really necessary tool the use of virtual aids into the classroom.
Here there are 7 proposals of "modern tools" to use into the classroom that are specially usefull for gropus tasks.

In my personal opinion I really liked numer 1 which is a board tool that lets users organize thoughts and ideas spatially and plus, it could be connected to youtube and google drive (two digital toolsvery used by students) and i liked numer4 aswell because it is specially designed for children and teenagers.

Enjoy the reading and i hope my colleagues use some of these digital tools in their classes.

Why Pedagogy First, Tech Second Stance is Key to the Future

Why Pedagogy First, Tech Second Stance is Key to the Future | Computer Science Education | Scoop.it
When implementing and successfully sustaining a mobile learning initiative, it is imperative not to allow the device to drive instruction. Lessons, curriculum, schools and districts should never be built around technology. Everything we do in education should be built around learning. Thus, if the ultimate goal is to improve student outcomes then the role of any mobile device initiative should be to support or enhance learning.

Will online learning lead education by 2025? | Computer Science Education | Scoop.it
The respondents predict that the future learning environment will break free from the classroom: 64% of respondents believe students in 2015 primarily engage with content in the classroom, but only 25% predict it will still be the leading way for learning in 2025. Alongside this, the use of remote learning technologies in teaching is expected to rise significantly: 53% of education professionals believe real-time video collaboration and mobile devices will be the primary way students engage with content by 2025.
