How to Grab and Keep Girls’ Interest in Computer Coding

How to Grab and Keep Girls’ Interest in Computer Coding | Computational Thinking In Digital Technologies | Scoop.it
There's growing and well-founded concern about the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and math fields, particularly when it comes to women of color. Here are some ideas on what to do about it.

Via Bonnie Bracey Sutton
Paul Herring's insight:

US Statistics: "... about 20 percent of all programmers are women and while women make up 57 percent of undergraduates they represent only 18 percent of the computer science majors. ... (with preductions) that 8.65 million jobs in 2018 will be in STEM fields (and over 50% of these in Computing).", this means that women are missing out on a lot of very good potential careers.

The situation is even worse in Australia from the stats I see.
