“Five years from now, 10 years from now, 20 years from now, how many of the people in this room might opt for a different kind of education?” she asked. “How many students around the world from places that can’t come here will have a very high-quality education because you can mix and match components in a different way?” She spoke of working learners, or “plate-spinners,” who juggle work and children and need education for their life and job, and who constitute a market three times as large as the traditional post-secondary education market.
