In September 2012, 32-year-old Valeria ‘Munique’ Tachiquin was fatally shot by a US Border Patrol agent. The death of the mother-of-five has sparked outrage in the Latino community and now her family has journeyed to Washington, DC to speak to Congress about the atrocities that occur on the US/Mexico border and hope to avoid similar cases from occurring. Her father, Valentin Tachiquin, and Christian Ramirez, director for Southern Border Communities Coalition, describe what they are hoping to change.
