Community Friends & Networks Programme (CFNP)

Community Friends & Networks Programme (CFNP) | CFNP North | Scoop.it

The Community Friends & Networks Programme (CFNP) was a new initiative at the University of Tasmania. In October 2008, the Business Faculty, International Services and Student Services commenced the Community Friendship Pilot Programme. The Community Friends & Networks Programme was launched in November 2009 and continues to expand on the success of this initiative.

The programme seeks to support UTAS students to experience the real Tasmania during their stay, or as they build a permanent new life in the State. Those welcome to participate include international students, students newly arrived on a humanitarian visa, migrants, students from other parts of Australia, and students from regional Tasmania. CFNP is statewide and coordinated out of Launceston and Hobart.

The CFNP is also exploring other possibilities of expanding students’ horizons by developing networks through participation in volunteer programs, work experience and other activities.

Currently enrolled students can follow us via the Facebook page and automatically receive invitations to activities and events on campus and in Launceston. To find us search for UTAS CFNP North.

For information regarding CFNP North please email community.friendship@utas.edu.au or call 6324 3566.

Office hours: 9am - 5pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

When:  Sunday 15th December 2013

Where:  Seafarer's Bar, Australian Maritime College, Newnham campus

Time:  6:30pm

This will be our final Lazy Sunday for 2013. To celebrate a fantastic semester we are having another BBQ, this time with a Christmas theme. CFNP will supply the sausages, bread, sauce and drinks, but please bring along a contribution such as a salad or snacks or even a special BBQ meat.

Games will follow the BBQ. We hope to play some ball games outside, but if the weather is cold or raining, we will have some indoor games too.

SECRET SANTA: We are going to play the secret Santa game. For those who do not know, to join the game you need to contribute a gift (wrapped in paper) to the value of $5. You will then receive a gift in return. It is a lot of fun. If you have any questions, please ask on the events section on our Facebook page and we will do our best to answer. :-)

We hope to see you there!

At the heart of this social framework, three generations of women survive wind, fire and even death, thanks to goodness, audacity and a limitless vitality.
