Where are we when you look at open source textbooks? This infographic explores the situation and the solution, as well as sharing locations where you may find open source materials. (You might also do a search on OER in this Scoop.it for locations).
Given finances of schools I think that open education resouces (that's the OER referred to above) will become more common...but that is my personal opinion.

Common Curriculum is a new online lesson planning resource that aims to help you align your lessons to Common Core standards. In Common Curriculum you can enter your courses and write your lesson plans. After you enter a lesson plan into your Common Curriculum planner you can click "search for standard" to have Common Curriculum search for Common Core standards that might match your lesson plan. At http://www.learnclick.com it is very simple to create quizzes. For gap-filling exercises (so-called cloze tests) you just mark the words with your mouse. Learnclick is a really useful site for teachers. I reviewed it back in 2012 (http://www.quickshout.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/create-interactive-cloze-texts.html), but they have been quite a lot of work since then, so well worth revisiting.

Unfortunately, this tool isn't free. It's $19/yr for the Basic Plan.

@Christine: Even so, it's very affordable ($19/y is less than $2 a month). It not being free might actually be a good thing, since you get good support with your subscription and we can pay our bills, so the product will not get closed down anytime soon. Biteslide is the former Beeclip EDU. It provides a platform for creating project presentations, student portfolios, digital storytelling, scrapbooks, posters and more. Basic account which allows to create one project with 30 students is free.
