The Making of a "Technological Marvel": RedShift 2012 Opening Session

Tri-Marq Communications helped RedPrairie mesmerize the audience at RedShift 2012 with a 130'x15' screen, 6 HD projectors to display 4.5 million pixels, video projection mapping and 3D animation (by Blend Studios).

The result, as Paula Rosenblum of RSR Research stated in her May 15th recap of the event,  was "... a technological marvel that I find myself at a loss to explain. 3D without the glasses is probably the shortest way to say it, but I also have to give props – it was spectacular."

Awesome Data Visualization: NASA's Van Gogh Sun

A crucial, and often underappreciated, facet of science lies in deciding how to turn the raw numbers of data into useful, understandable information -- often through graphs and images. Such visualization techniques are needed for everything from making a map of planetary orbits based on nightly measurements of where they are in the sky to colorizing normally invisible light such as X-rays to produce "images" of the sun.

Big Data: Enhancing Big Business’ Love Affair with Data

Big Data: Enhancing Big Business’ Love Affair with Data | RedPrairie is Commerce in Motion | Scoop.it

Business has had a long-running (albeit at times tumultuous) love affair with data. We love our data, whether it's in spreadsheets, databases or warehouses. We love collecting it, analyzing it, and every once in a while, sharing it.

As the world becomes ever more digitally connected, we are collecting staggering amounts of ones and zeros that do nothing but fuel our infatuation. Research tells us that we now collect 2,500,000,000,000,000,000 bytes of data every day.

For those of you who are wondering, that is 2.5 quintillion bytes of data.

Eighteen zeros. Of data. Every day.

The Cities Where A Paycheck Stretches The Furthest | Newgeography.com | RedPrairie is Commerce in Motion | Scoop.it
