Jordan Davis was killed because the killer felt "threatened" by because he thought Jordan Davis was a "thug."  The boy was not even armed, but he was killed because of stereotypes due to his race.

I completely agree with the youth who listens to older music because they cannot relate to the music that is out there today.  Pitts connects how the youth of today reacts to popular music to the way he connected the popular music of his time.  It's interesting how he brings in what he knows from his time and compares and contrasts the way it is now.

I love the use of sarcasm throughout the bulk of this piece.  The hyperbole used to create a false sense of sympathy with the millionaire is more effective than if Pitts were to simply mock the millionaire's ideas.
