Teamwork by Design: Four Ways to Better Collaborate | Business on GOOD | Collaborationweb | Scoop.it
What should you do if you need to build a team fast? Community engagement in a workspace can feel like herding cats, or even alligators. Collaboration should have an air of fun and levity, while also keeping its structure.

Driving Innovation With Crowdsourcing

Driving Innovation With Crowdsourcing | Collaborationweb | Scoop.it

A new strategy for innovation is taking shape. Companies ranging from digital media firms to consumer-packaged-goods concerns are using crowdsourcing to rapidly drive innovation, improve products and increase customer satisfaction. Using the crowdsourcing model, companies might break big-data projects into micro tasks that are then farmed out to the “crowd.

Collaborative Leadership

Collaborative Leadership | Collaborationweb | Scoop.it

As an Organization Development consultant, I focus my practice on serving the leadership of organizations to effectively collaborate to affect change they would otherwise not be able to accomplish on their own. Having led my own consulting business for over nine years, I’m constantly working to develop my own leadership capacity so I’m better positioned to serve. As part of my graduate degree in organization development, I’ve worked hard over the last two years to build my own capacity as a collaborative leader.

One man's journey towards collaborative leadership.  Useful contribution from Ron Milam.

Creating Spaces: a framework for devolved creativity

Creating Spaces: a framework for devolved creativity | Collaborationweb | Scoop.it

The Social Age requires agility, from both organisations and individuals. It's a time ofconstant change and what we did yesterday may not work again tomorrow because the ecosystem is evolving around us. When Henry Ford gave us the production line and Six Sigma optimised it, we thought that the challenge was to do things efficiently, to replicate and copy, to streamline and unify. Whilst there's still a place for that, we may be missing a trick: the ragged edges of innovation and creativity are the antithesis of order, but may be what we need to be agile.

David Hain's insight:

"Exploration is iterative: we are looking to facilitate the expression, rehearsal and reworking of multiple ideas. Each one tested and assessed by the community to create data points for review and comparison." ~ @JulianStodd

Why social tools and collaboration are key to your business

Why social tools and collaboration are key to your business | Collaborationweb | Scoop.it

As the shift to an information-based economy has taken over much of the world's workforce, it follows that the tools people use to work should evolve accordingly.

Digital ways of working now takes over two thirds of the working day, demonstrating a shift in how people work. As businesses continue to adapt to changing habits, they must ensure that workplace productivity and effective collaboration keep pace.

A recent report from Forrester predicted that tablet use will triple to 905 million devices for work and personal use globally by 2017, pointing to the reality of a growing mobile workforce.

Many employees are now anytime, anywhere workers and the geographic nature of work has changed, with one third of all American and European countries working together from disparate environments.
