What Does An Instructional Designer Do? Infographic

What Does An Instructional Designer Do? Infographic | Collaboration | Scoop.it
Several professionals are involved in the instructional design field. However, do you know the full range of what an instructional designer do? A large group of ASU Instructional Designers and Technologists were asked to tell about the work they do!

What if the words "instructional designer" were removed from this Infographic and "School Library Media Specialist" was inserted? How many of us would fit the criteria? I'm thinking quite a few. That thought led me to this one: would a school library media specialist (and school library) have more credibility and respect from legislators and administrators if it was an Instructional Designer in an Instructional Design Space? Is it really all in the title?

Okay, first of all I really love Infographics. Secondly, I'd never heard of the ADDIE model and I'm intrigued. It reminds me of the Big6 and corresponds with it in many ways. This would be a good one to share with teachers.

I remember learning about this during my graduate program. This makes for a nice review of the process.

I liked this article because a lot of times it is hard to see how Project Based Learning connects to the curriculum and standards the teachers are expected to teach their students. This article breaks down the five key considerations that go into the creation of a project in project based learning.

How to Get High-Quality Student Work in PBL

How to Get High-Quality Student Work in PBL | Collaboration | Scoop.it

This is a common concern of teachers who are new to project-based learning. Things can appear to be going smoothly -- students have been engaged by the project, they've been learning content and skills, they've been busy and meeting deadlines -- but their thinking is not as in-depth and their final products not as polished as they should be. If this is your experience, it's time to ask yourself some questions:

Ashleigh Sweetman's curator insight, February 20, 2014 11:42 AM

I loved this Edutopia article! It answered many of the questions I have as a future teacher about project-based learning. I am really interested in how to find out whether or not the students are engaged in the project. If they are not engaged, how do teachers alter their projects to make all students engaged?  I feel that project-based learning is extremely beneficial for students inside and outside of the classroom.  This article will be really helpful in my future classroom when I begin to have trouble managing my students' project-based learning.
