OLYMPIA, Wa., February 17, 2014 – Today, the Washington State house passed a bill putting strict limitations on the use of drones and other “extra-sensory devices” within the state. The vote was 83-15.

House Bill 2789 (HB2789) was filed by Rep. Dave Taylor (R-Moxee) and a bipartisan group of five democrats and six republicans. The bill prohibits the use of drones to collect personal information that “describes, locates, or indexes anything about a person” without a warrant “made in writing, upon oath or affirmation, to a judicial officer…where there is probable cause.” Once such warrants are issued by a judicial officer, the legislation allows their use for ten days. A judicial officer may grant an extension, but for no more than thirty days.

The legislation also bans public agencies from even acquiring drones without specific authorization from the appropriate governing body.

Action Items

In Washington State:  Take steps to support limits on drones HERE.

Other States:  Contact your state legislators today – urge them to introduce similar legislation.  Model bills and contact info HERE.

Too few into the fight leaves risk of corruption at worst and failure at best.

Get behind those fighting in cyber wars with sharing and posting and calling representatives up through the White House. Know your neighbors and meet at kitchen tables.  In this case it appears we have big companies going to fight for us, and warning us for a while ....We've already laid or are laying individual cyber warriors on prison beds or in the ground. Research who has been arrested for hacking or cracking and what it was they did. Some were crooks but others were our warriors seeking proof of misdeeds towards us.

Hacker/crackers for causes are realizing that with each crack/hack they give more justification to invasion of all of our privacy by those they desire to expose and that seek to control us.  That should not be true because citizens collectively, did not give them cause for warrants and governments and companies are taking advantage of the situation. They should be gratefull as individuals for reason to act less cowardly on a personal level than their powerful positions allow them to do out of fear of losing control for governments or corporations. They should welcome the inclusion of their fellow citizens into the power sharing with relief. We have vast talents and ideas and together we are best.

These cyber warriors have given proof of two of the biggest invaders of privacy....Cracks of our governments (yes plural is right) collections and sharing back and forth NSA with other countries data and private corporations like Stratfor doing the same for global hire on a for-profit basis the world over have provided proof of what is going on...Now can we just act on what we citizens now have confirmed for us by these young individuals from behind the scenes. We want our cyber warriors innovating how to make the world a better place globally for all of us .....and not having to fight cyber wars.

Follow the whole topic broadly not just thru FOX or CNN or any other one source. It takes some effort to even have useful general knowledge of the battles and none are fairly addressed on mass media 4 minute or 1 hour sound bites. Do your history homework as well on Internet communications and privacy.

You can learn a lot in a week to get started really looking over things then stay on it....This will be a life long watch because there is way more to be gained from control of the internet than anything in history that ever tempted those that thirst for power and wealth…
