Today millions across the country will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that allowed legal abortion in all 50 states. Even before Roe was decided, however, anti-choice activists were already organized to push back against any softening or reform of abortion laws in the country. Now, 40 years in, they've made it even more clear that the final goal is no abortions, ever, for anyone, under any circumstances.
No exceptions.

The Republican-controlled House of Representatives on Tuesday passed legislation severely restricting abortions, a move that could alienate women from the conservative party.
...could alienate women? That's it? I don't think so. How about outrage women? How about inspire women to massive action. Yeah, massive action. Who paid you off, House of Un-Representatives? You are going to find your cost to benefit analysis failed you this time. Enough!

More DANCING for DOLLARS in DC: yesterday’s House vote on the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” is nothing more than a cash cow. Have you had enough of this? I have.
There are millions of dollars worth of campaign contributions to be made by NOT resolving the issue of a woman’s right to choose when she will give birth. Both sides of the political drama benefit, but we, the people out here in reality land, become collateral damage.
Women who seek terminations at 20 weeks or beyond have serious medical conditions that are exacerbated to life threatening status by pregnancy. If an exception is actually given for such cases, all cases will end up as exceptions EXCEPT women without access to primary, let alone specialized, care. It should have been called the “Death to Poor Women With a Life Threatening Pregnancy Act.”
By the way, what about a Pain-Capable BORN Child Protection Act? No campaign contributions for that one? Didn't think so.

According to the anti-choice action group, "tons of doctors" approve of the new anti-choice bills mandating how physicians interact with patients. But national and state physicians' groups are not on board.

As the news media scrambles to dramatize the government’s level of surveillance on U.S. soil, I MUST ask, where was the media when the Patriot Act was passed? Or when the provisions added to National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that allow detention of US Citizens without charge or counsel?
And Congress, why have you spent so much time voting to affirm “In God We Trust” (the cold war answer to E Pluribus Unum) instead of looking at things like this? I must laugh or I will cry. And you?
