Five Sooners Qualify for Olympic Trials

When the United States holds its 2012 men’s gymnastics Olympic Trials in late June, five of the 15 competitors will be current or former University of Oklahoma gymnasts.

Oklahoma junior Jake Dalton and Sooner letter winners Chris Brooks (2006-2009), 2008 Olympian Jonathan Horton (2005-2008), Steven Legendre (2008-2011) and Alex Naddour (2010-2011) were named to the U.S. National Team and advanced to the U.S. Olympic Trials after their performances at the 2012 Visa Championships on Saturday.

Sooners Enter Final Round Of Men's NCAA Championships

The field of 12 teams was cut in half Thursday in the semifinals of the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships at Lloyd Noble. No. 1-ranked Oklahoma posted the second-highest score among the six qualifying teams.

The Sooners seek a ninth NCAA team championship in program history at 7 p.m. Friday at Lloyd Noble Center.

OU Men Maintain No. 1 ranking; Women Still No. 2

With spring sports now well under way, several OU athletic teams currently are ranked very high.

The men’s gymnastics team held onto its No. 1 national ranking for the fourth straight week, while the women’s gymnastics team is right on their heels.

Sooners Clean Up At Event Championships

A night after claiming the NCAA all-around crown, Jake Dalton won the NCAA title on parallel bars and became the first Sooner gymnast to be named an All-American in six events Saturday in the NCAA men's gymnastics championships at Lloyd Noble Center.

He was among seven Sooners who competed for event championships and combined for 11 total All-American awards.

No. 1 OU Hosts the 2012 NCAA Championship

NORMAN, OK - The top-ranked Oklahoma men’s gymnastics team will pursue its sixth national title since 2002 and ninth in program history this weekend, and it will do so in the comfort of its own home. The University of Oklahoma plays host to the 2012 NCAA Championship at the Lloyd Noble Center with two qualifying sessions at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19.

The Sooners will compete to be one of six teams to advance to the team finals at 7 p.m. on Friday. The top eight individuals on each apparatus will advance to the event finals at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
