The author and founder of the Seat of the Soul Institute shows us how to work through one of life’s most challenging emotions.
Gary says that guilt "serves no constructive purpose", but I disagree. There's a type of guilt that I call "Productive Guilt" (as opposed to "Punishing Guilt") can be constructive, educational, motivational and even transformational. There have been somethings I've done in my life that I wasn't very proud of, and I found that if I "forgive myself" right away, I may forget the lesson -- only feeling guilty in a way that can help me make DARNED SURE I never do that behaviour again, helps me remember and ensures change.
