The amount of hours you work are generally eight to fifteen hours. It depends on your area of work which part you work in. If you work in a hospital it is the most amount of money, a private school is inbetween and a nursing home is the least. A hospital is also the most demanding amongest the other two. The reason for this is it is a more fast paced enviroment.
The requirements are relatively simple you dont have to take prerequisits or go to any other classes. If your just going for your CNA liscence. The reason is it is kind of like beauty school. You show up to your class and stay for about six to eight hours everyday except saturdays and sundays. So it is just like regular school your just staying in one room most of the time. What you do have to have though is either a GPA or highschool diploma and be of eighteeb years of age.
The amount of time it takes to get your CNA liscence is 3-6 weeks usualy but the highest is 3 months. It all depends on which course you take. If you go to a private school it is more money then a community college. A private school is more becuase it is funded differently.
The places you can work after you get your lisence is limited. But there are hospitals and private companys and nursing homes. The reason for this is the other places mostly want RNs, LPNs, or MAs or people who deal in pedatrics. They want people that are liscenced in those categorys becuase they are qualified to do more.
If you are looking for a quick and cheap way to become a CNA then I definitly suggest going to shoreline community college. I wanted to go there so bad but it is just to far away from where I live. So I found Edmonds they are pretty much the same in cost and length wise.
I have learned so much about my career. I have learned about the cost, how long it will take and the college I want to go to. I have even opened my eyes up to taking my career further. Going past working in hospitals and working for companys that need CNAs.
