It also requires a pad of consequent and contacts multi channels, hours spent to stay up the net, and to lead groups or communities. It is thus crucial to become attached to it and, so that it is assured in optimal conditions of success, to outsource it to an expert. At last, it requires to be multi lingual. A media plan is just as important as a business plan! I'm always surprised how many businesses operate without a written business plan, same for media, it makes a huge difference!
Shiv Batta's comment, May 9, 2013 10:47 PM
It has become clear that social media is turning into quite the process. It’s becoming more and more important, so many different tools and advice columns keep popping up to help businesses and individuals stay organized and successful when it comes to this newer marketing effort. This has caused many companies to create a full-time social media position for experts to help manage the many social accounts, follow analytics, get creative with engagement, etc. It takes a lot of time and effort, but the payoff is only increasing as social involvement increase.

Is Your Business Monitoring What Matters On Social Media? [INFOGRAPHIC]

Is Your Business Monitoring What Matters On Social Media? [INFOGRAPHIC] | COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT - CM2 | Scoop.it

A recent study revealed that almost half of companies are not monitoring their online social media communities.

More than one-third said that they only measure Likes, comments and interactions on Facebook, with fewer than one in four actively measuring the ROI of their social media campaigns.

Social media affects your bottom line; brands that are proactively using these tools see numerous benefits. And for those that aren’t, the absence of social media can also impact their bottom lines, albeit in a very different way.

This infographic takes a closer look at why the shift to in-depth social media monitoring is critical for the modern business.

Drew Hodges's curator insight, February 19, 2015 5:58 PM

This article looks at how we have almost become lazy with our sampling methods. For example when we look up keyword searches like a brand name, it is more effective to look at the whole conversation. Another common metric we use is using sample sets of data, although there is so much data it would be impossible to look at every single piece of data, it is important to set a sample size big enough so that the data has minimal outliers. For example a sample size of 10 might give you a totally different picture than a sample size of 100.

What is not talked about in this article that was touched on in class was the idea of getting the whole picture. For example with software they may be using keywords like they say in the article but it may not have the typical connotation when read in context of the statement.

Always look at the feasibility for visitors to get to a next step with you. If the sign-up, free trial, get help buttons are not in optimal viewing range, your conversion rate will be abysmal. No visitor expects to make a deal right away unless you're an ecommerce site - woo them and be friendly. Think of a shop window if you had a brick and mortar business. That's your website's homepage canvas.....

The Digital Marketing Trio Of 2013 [Infographic]

The Digital Marketing Trio Of 2013 [Infographic] | COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT - CM2 | Scoop.it

Digital marketing has become one of the most focused on streams of marketing in the last few years. Three of the biggest digital marketing issues include social network marketing, mobile, SMS marketing, and content marketing. Here’s a brief look at each:

  • Social Network Marketing

As a marketing, you can rely on social media to connect, engage, and build relationships with current and potential customers.

  • Mobile / SMS Marketing

Mobile marketing is a term that covers several different methods of marketing through mobile devices. Mobile marketing can take several different shapes but one of the most popular is SMS marketing.

  • Content Marketing

Content marketing is the development of interesting and helpful materials to engage customers and clients. Examples of content can be blogs, infographics, online tools, YouTube videos etc.

This infographic displays some eye-opening statistics about these 3 digital marketing streams and might get you thinking more about including these streams into your marketing mix.
