Cloud faces uphill struggle, while mobile development shines

Businesses in the financial sector that hold large amounts of very sensitive client data will be the last to move into the cloud. It is totally understandable! Security and privacy are their livelihood and go through great lengths to building their own Fort Knox. The NSA's PRISM incident certainly didn't do the industry any favours. Until the cloud is well and truly tested, the UK will lag.

SAP refused to disclose the amount of companies who have extended their on-premise services to the cloud through the cloud extension policy launched last summer, the company said the numbers were irrelevant.

The main “culprits” of the positive cloud adoption trends in the UK is due the real benefits offered by the cloud: Flexibility, cost saving and low cost of adoption. And UK decision makers are ready to use more of the cloud: 73 percent expect their cloud adoption to increase over the next 12 months.
