This article describes how the music industry was able to come back from the damage done by piracy and illegal music downloads.  Their answer was "convenience" and by streaming for a monthly subscription the consumer is able to have over a million songs at the finger tips.  The cloud has slowly started to make a comeback against piracy but I believe it's only the beginning of its uphill climb.

Physical sales are diminishing as streaming music takes over the industry. We must catch up and adjust to this new wave, and not sit back and allow music to be unappreciated so heavily. There is a way to make this work for the consumers and professionals.
