Private and hybrid cloud models, IT departments acting as cloud brokers, more competition among providers and a maturity in services is where 'as-a-service' computing is heading in 2014, say analysts.

I think this is the way it will go, .... "We will see ever-more public cloud adoption ... public [cloud] is probably going to be 70 to 80 per cent of cloud workloads," .... although maybe the author is being too optimistic.

Mr McKendrick is spot on, if we could be allowed to forget that privacy and security are issues right now. And who is to say that what happened in the US cannot happen elsewheere. Time will heal of course but it would help better if encryption keys are passed over from service providers to the users.

Honestly, need to take numbers with a lot of caution, 84% CIOs reduce cost with Cloud (USA, Worldwide?) after 80% only goes Cloud? And 21% cost reducing because going on Cloud: from which study & reference, how calculated? Just take care those numbers please.
