Sometimes we dont have the time to get every point in history covered in class so things like this are great. Crash courses by John Green provide the main points and concepts and serve as a great tool to review, intro, or refresh. You can use these in any way in your class.

I would show them in the beginning of a unit and maybe even end with it.

Cold War missile heads to Everglades National Park

Cold War missile heads to Everglades National Park | Climate OR Flood OR Drought | Scoop.it

Via WPLG Local 10:

Drivers did a double take Friday morning as a refurbished 41-foot Nike missile made its way down the Florida Turnpike.

Students at George T. Baker Aviation School spent almost two months refurbishing the shell. It will be placed at the park Friday morning.

The Nike Missile was delivered to the school in late August as part of the events surrounding the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The students sanded, repaired, and re-painted the piece of Cold War history, which will be displayed at the historic Nike Missile Site HM-69, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the first Nike Missile in 33 years to return to a Florida military base, according to a press release.

CD -  The classification of environmental resources and the forms that water takes as a resource.

Zoe Pyke's curator insight, August 27, 2013 5:16 AM

TED talks are a great way to obtain information in generally short bursts. This clip is only 3 1/2 minutes long so easily watchable by younger studnets without them losing interest.

It could be used as an engaging way to start a unit on water and water usage.

The clip uses language that is understanable and graphics that make the information clearer and easier to digest as well as being something interesting to watch.
