in Gujarat in 2004 i volunteered on an organic Aloe Vera farm, the landowner had given up trying to grow mangoes as there wasn't enough water. His tube well went 300 feet into the water table (ten years previously it was 30 feet). Globalised industry is guilty of polluting rivers and pumping water with no regard for people, creatures or land:
