This looks interesting...may push the boundaries of some school districts with regard to their smartphone policies.

BI Media Specialists's curator insight, October 27, 10:15 AM

On recommendation from Mrs. Akin, we have tried this app and love it! You can create custom quizzes and download class data, much like you can with a CPS system. Check it out and see how you like it! There are quizzes already created by other teachers that you can try or you can create your own.

Why new technologies could never replace great teaching

Why new technologies could never replace great teaching | Classroom Tools and Ideas | Scoop.it
“ Technology in education gets plenty of hype, but let's not forget the importance of teaching and learning, says Pamela Wright” So where do I stand as an educator, as a leader in education? The centre point of my passion is a philosophy that I instil into my staff, into the school and into every school I support. It is the child – first and foremost. Teachers don't simply teach concepts and skills. Any new technology can do that. Good teachers inspire our young people to be lifelong learners, creating a culture of independent enquiry with their enthusiasm and passion. I know this because I see it every day. Good teachers have the skills to know exactly how to get the best out of each and every young person in their care.

Teaching With Infographics

Teaching With Infographics | Classroom Tools and Ideas | Scoop.it

"This past week I taught a few classes on infographics and decided to update the page by adding a section called "Teaching With Infographics". It is important for your students to make sure that they evaluate any infographics they are using, by making sure the author/creator has cited their references. Misinformation on the web exists. Have students read these tips to make a better infographic."

Working with info graphics has become an important skill now a days because new generation reads better images with less text.  Helping students to become good users of it is developing 21st. century learners.
