9 Digital Learning Tools Every 21st Century Teacher Should Be Able To Use | CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY | Scoop.it

"The 21st century is a time of rapid change, and while the brain may not be changing (much), the tools we use to feed it are.

This puts the 21st century teacher in a critical spot–of mastering constantly evolving technology and digital learning tools–the same tools their students use every day.

So below, we’ve started with 9 such tools, but this is obviously just scratching the surface. This list is not meant to be exhaustive (obviously), or even authoritative (but rather, subjective)."

Love Evernote for me. This year, I plan to have my students use it for note taking as well as for displaying their progress.

Online class requirement reflects new reality

Online class requirement reflects new reality | CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY | Scoop.it

"Students in Virginia's public schools have long been expected to graduate with a solid grasp of the technology affecting every facet of daily life. The state's Standards of Learning call for students to learn, as early as kindergarten, about computers, and the framework provides a pathway for incorporating technology in the classroom and discussing its impact. It only seems natural that state officials would push deeper. And they are. Lawmakers approved a requirement, to take effect in the fall of 2013, for students entering high school to take at least one online course as a condition of graduation."
