Now a days being social means quite simply, engaging and talking to your customers.  These are great tips to help you define what you should be looking for when it comes to being your own customer service on the differnt social venues.  I would caution people though, learn to understand what the different social venues offer and use them properly to get the most out of them

Social networks are a one of the greatest ways to catch costumers, but the thing is that is not just about making posts will make people appear. There are some other ways that make more efficient the strategy of social networks in bussiness marketing, such as knowing the time when we can post. Identifying the traffic hours will help you to focalize your info and capture more public.

Policing the Web: How Google’s ‘Cops’ Track Down Bad Ads

Policing the Web: How Google’s ‘Cops’ Track Down Bad Ads | Advertising & Media | Scoop.it
Virtually every minute somebody somewhere is trying to dupe users into clicking on an ad for a questionable business.
Dave Cottrell's insight:

As a former owner of several small social media websites, I well know how difficult social sites are to police.  You have to be there 24/7 and cannot drop your guard for even a second, or someone will be posting a scam or adult content or something else that is questionable or illegal.

"Since 2008, Google has been tracking the number of bad ads that appear and are taken down. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the number has grown each year. In 2012, Google “disapproved” of a record-high 224 million ads and suspended 889,000 accounts for violating its advertising policies, which include everything from writing an ad in ALL CAPS to selling stolen goods. Compare that with 2008, when Google disapproved of 25 million ads and suspended only 18,000 accounts."
