Classic Bike and Rider Peloton for Goodwood

Classic Bike and Rider Peloton for Goodwood | Classic Steel Bikes | Scoop.it
Chris Miles's insight:

2013 Goodwood Revival Tour De France Celebration.

For the 2013 Goodwood Revival, the Old Bicycle Showroom have been asked by Goodwood to help curate a very special celebration to mark the 110th anniversary of the first Tour De France from 1903. Taking place over the weekend of the 13th - 15th September 2013, the plan is to recreate a full peloton of upto 60 riders on period pre-1966 racing bicycles, full period clothing with period vehicles and motorcycles. 2 full laps of the Goodwood motor circuit in Sussex on both Saturday and Sunday with a sprint finish over the line. There will also be a period French village square giving the look of the "Tour De France has stopped at Goodwood".

Spaces to ride in this exclusive event are limited to 60 only and any interested riders for the event would need to have authentic pre-1966 period racing bicycles with the riders to be equipped with period style pre-1966 clothing etc. (ie, c.1903 - 1966)

Riders will be well looked after by Goodwood all weekend with a package to include: 4 weekend tickets to the full event, Full hospitality to include Breakfast - Lunch and Afternoon tea each day, Exclusive badges for the VIP Grandstand and pit lane roof to watch the legendary weekend motor racing, access to the race car paddocks and free weekend camping.
